Quality Auditor

We are seeking a Quality Auditor to join our team at Athena Care Homes. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring our homes consistently meet regulatory requirements while supporting a culture of continuous improvement across the organisation.

About the role:
Reporting to the CEO, our Quality Auditor will lead Athena's internal audit programme across our seven care homes.

You'll carry out comprehensive six-monthly whole-home audits, undertake focused audits where required, and provide clear, objective reports that help our homes continually improve. Working closely with Home Managers and operational teams, you'll identify areas of good practice, highlight risks and support the development of practical action plans.

You'll also use compliance systems, such as RADAR, to monitor performance, track actions and identify emerging trends across the business.

Salary:
£55-60,000 per annum.

Shift Pattern:
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.  

Location:
Regional with travel to all Athena locations in accordance with your role.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Athena's internal audit programme, including six-monthly whole-home audits and targeted thematic reviews across all care homes.
  • Produce clear, evidence-based audit reports, identify compliance risks and agree practical action plans with Home Managers.
  • Monitor progress against audit actions, escalating significant risks and ensuring timely resolution of compliance issues.
  • Analyse compliance data and governance information to identify trends, opportunities for improvement and support organisational reporting.
  • Maintain knowledge of current legislation, regulatory requirements and best practice, ensuring audit processes remain effective and up to date.

Training, Skills & Experience Required:

  • Experience in compliance, governance, quality assurance or auditing within the adult social care sector.
  • A strong understanding of regulatory requirements affecting care homes, including CQC, Health & Safety, Environmental Health and PAMMS.
  • Experience conducting audits, producing professional reports and using digital compliance systems such as RADAR or similar platforms.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills, with the confidence to build positive relationships while providing constructive challenge.
  • A full UK driving licence and the flexibility to travel regularly between Athena Care Homes.
